This reflective day trip from Warsaw takes you to the Treblinka Memorial, one of the most important sites of Holocaust remembrance in Poland.
Located about 80 minutes from Warsaw, Treblinka II was a Nazi German extermination camp operating in 1942–1943 during Operation Reinhard. An estimated 900,000 Jews were murdered here, many deported from the Warsaw Ghetto and other parts of Europe. The camp was created solely for extermination, and its structures were destroyed by the Nazis in an attempt to erase evidence of their crimes.
Today, Treblinka is a quiet and powerful memorial site.
Tour plan
Depending on the number of participants and availability, the tour may be organized by car, or partly by train and car.
If you are travelling with 1 or more companions we will arrange the tour for you two+ by car or partly by car and train. You will join other travellers if we have any, if not we will run the tour just for your group of travellers. So the minimum size of the group to be run is 2 people.
If you are a solo traveller, we will arrange for you to join an existing group if one is available on your chosen date. If not, we will let you know one day before the tour and you will have two options: refund or payment of a supplement of 65eur so that we run the tour just for you. We will send you a payment link the day before the tour. In this case the tour will be run partly by train and car.
By car: The tour starts at a designated meeting point in Warsaw city centre, confirmed one day before the tour. After the meeting your driver and any other participants, you will travel directly to the Treblinka Memorial. After the visit, you will return to Warsaw. Pick up from the hotel is also possible: +20EUR. When choosing car option you can also add life guide service at the time of booking.
By train and car: You will depart from Warsaw Central railway station and travel by train, with car transfers between the railway station and the Treblinka Memorial. After the visit, you will return to Warsaw by train. In this option the life guide is not available.
At Treblinka, you will have approximately 2 hours (when going by car) or more (if you go by train) to explore the outdoor memorial grounds independently, using an audio guide on your own smartphone. This allows you to visit the site at your own pace and take time for reflection.
The tour takes approximately 5 hours (or more if you want to stay longer at the camp - train option).
If you book the optional English-speaking guide service (+90 EUR per booking), the car-based itinerary will also include visits to the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes, next to the POLIN Museum, and Umschlagplatz in Warsaw, places related closely with the extermination in Treblinka Camp. Pick-up can also be arranged from the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes. This option is not available for the train-based tours.
One day before the tour, you will receive an email from us with the confirmed departure time, meeting point and transportation details.
Please note that the museum buildings at Treblinka are currently closed due to ongoing construction works. The opening of the new museum building is planned for 2027. Nevertheless, the outdoor memorial grounds remain accessible. There are also temporary outdoor exbibitions explaining the history of the place and replacing the museum's exhibition.
As an alternative, you may also consider visiting Lublin and Majdanek.

This was our first time in Poland, planned around the Iron Maiden concert in Warsaw, and we wanted to experience as much WWII history as possible. From start to finish, our journey with AB Poland Travel was unforgettable. Thanks to Magda and Zuzanna’s outstanding coordination, every detail—from hotel bookings to taxi transfers—and daily schedules.
Each guide brought their own expertise and passion. Jurek and Jacek took us through Lublin, Majda nek, and Sobibór, weaving personal stories and deep historical insight into an emotional, humbling day.
