Majdanek Memorial
Located just outside the city of Lublin, Majdanek is one of the best-preserved Nazi German concentration and extermination camps in Europe. Established in 1941, the camp operated as a place of forced labor and mass murder, through which over 150,000 prisoners from across Europe passed. Today, the memorial site includes original camp structures such as barracks, gas chambers, and the Mausoleum containing victims’ ashes, making the visit both educational and deeply moving.
Compared to Auschwitz, Majdanek is less crowded and easier to access, offering a powerful and authentic Holocaust memorial experience without heavy commercialization.
Lublin – History and Jewish heritage
Lublin is one of eastern Poland’s most historically significant cities, known for its Old Town and long-standing Jewish heritage. Before World War II, it was an important center of Jewish learning and culture. During the visit, guests can explore key landmarks of the Old Town or focus on Jewish heritage sites connected to the city’s past.
Tour plan
This tour starts in Warsaw, with departure at 10:00 from the parking area behind Novotel Centrum. From there, you will travel to Majdanek, where you will spend up to 2 hours exploring the former concentration and extermination camp memorial on your own. After the visit, the journey continues to Lublin, where you will have up to 1 hour to see the city’s main highlights. After that, you will return to Warsaw.

This was our first time in Poland, planned around the Iron Maiden concert in Warsaw, and we wanted to experience as much WWII history as possible. From start to finish, our journey with AB Poland Travel was unforgettable.
