Tour plan
3-hour walking tour
You will find out how World War II looked like in Warsaw. In the Old Town, you will admire the rebuilt Royal Castle that on September 17th was cannonaded by Germans. It was an immense loss as it was the seat of the President of Poland and the symbol of Polish sovereignty. It caused the roof of St. John’s Archcathedral to be set on fire. Also, you will discover the story of the Siege of Warsaw fought between the Polish Warsaw Army and the invading German Army. The Old Town was also the place of the fights during the Warsaw Uprising. The battles in which the heroic Insurgents took part left the scars in the city that you will have a chance to see with your own eyes. Also, you will walk down the Royal Route which was a former communication route that led southward from the city’s Old Town. The Warsaw Uprising Monument at Krasinski Square is the last point of the tour.
3-hour tour by car
Save time and see much more by choosing our tour by car. You will be picked up from your hotel and then you will follow the sites related to World War II described in the walking tour.
This tour is extended by stopping next to the fragments of the Ghetto Wall – there are two characteristic fragments from which some of the bricks were removed and transported to Jewish museums located all over the world, for example in the USA or in Australia. You will also have a chance to see the Pawiak prison – part of the Warsaw concentration camp. During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, its jailers volunteered to hunt the Jews.
5-hour tour by car
This tour is enriched by visiting the Praga district. This area lying at the right side of the Vistula river was a dumb witness of World War II. You will discover the traces of bullets on the fasades of the buildings and see almost untouched buildings from the past as only 25 percent of Praga’s architecture was destroyed during the World War II.
It was the Praga that was the place of fights on the first three days of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. Many strategic sites like the Wilenski Train Station or the Schicht Factory were occupied by the insurgents in this period. The Praga district was also the place of making The Pianist film in 2002.

A great travel agency
AB Poland worked with me to completely customize my three days in Poland and make the most of my time. They answered all of my questions, made great suggestions and built the perfect itinerary all at reasonable enough prices. Plus, my guides Jacek in Warsaw and Kinga in Krakow were knowledgeable and friendly hosts, making conversation easy. Have nothing bad to say at all. I would highly recommend AB Poland.
