Tour plan
The tour starts next to the Warsaw Mermaid at the Old Town Market Place. We will spend a few minutes here to see the Christmas Market. You can try famous Polish specialties like smoked highlanders' cheese "oscypek", various candies and drink mulled wine or hot tea. Seasonal souvenirs and handicrafts are also available. The market is made up of wooden chalets richly decorated with chains and lights. You will move to the Castle Square with Sigismund’s Column. This is where the biggest Christmas tree in Warsaw lits up every winter. Then you will admire the magnificent Royal Castle – a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is covered with magical snow-like illuminations.
At St. Anne’s Church, our guide takes you for a stroll along the Royal Route decorated with Christmas lights. You will move down the Krakowskie Przedmiescie street, where you will pass the Presidential Palace, the University of Warsaw, the Holy Cross Church with Frederick Chopin's heart, the Kopernik monument. On the way you will have a curtain of lights above your heads. Then, you will reach the next point of the tour – Royal Lazienki Park by public bus (ticket included). There, plenty of colorful lights along Chinese Alley will remind you of dreams from your childhood. The route includes the most important tourist sites: the Palace on the Isle, the New Orangery and the Myslewicki Palace. You will walk among stunning light figures as well. You can stay there on your own for a little longer or you can return to the Warsaw palm tree with the guide. Here the tour ends. From Friday to Sunday we would encourage you to continue on your own to the Garden of lights and mapping shows in Wilanow Palace.
If you decide to book the tour by car, you can be picked up at your hotel or you can meet with the guide at the old town (up to you!). During the tour you will see all the places mentioned above (old town, Krakowskie Przedmiescie avenue, royal park) plus you will drive to see the Wilanow Palace. In the winter time it is surrounded b the Royal Garden of Light – an outdoor, open-air exhibition which contains hundreds of diodes making extraordinary shapes. You will be impressed by an over 70-meter-long tunnel, illuminated pergola, avenue planted with vines. Apart of that, you will see the newly opened Rose Garden, full of color-changing light flowers and an illuminated fountain. On weekends we invite you for a spectacular three-dimensional show – mappings. It combines light, pictures and sound displayed on the facade of the palace.
Afterward, you will be transferred back to the Old Town or to your hotel.

A great travel agency
AB Poland worked with me to completely customize my three days in Poland and make the most of my time. They answered all of my questions, made great suggestions and built the perfect itinerary all at reasonable enough prices. Plus, my guides Jacek in Warsaw and Kinga in Krakow were knowledgeable and friendly hosts, making conversation easy. Have nothing bad to say at all. I would highly recommend AB Poland.
