Tour plan
You will begin your city tour in the heart of Torun – Rynek (Main Square). In the center of the square, you will find a Gothic Town Hall, which houses the town museum. Inside you will see a rich collection of sculptures, paintings, and stained glass. We strongly recommend climbing up the tower (extra paid) to admire a gorgeous panorama of Torun and the Vistula river. In front of the entrance, there is a bronze monument of Nicolaus Copernicus. Walking around the Main Square, you will see the mansions of the Hansa merchants, such as Pod Gwiazdą or Dwor Artusa. Most of them are richly decorated and well preserved.
Just next to the Main Square you will visit the Holy Spirit’s Church, Saint Mary’s Church, and the magnificent Saint John’s Cathedral.
Passing defensive walls and several towers like Sailor’s Gate or Bridge-Gate you will reach the ruins of the Teutonic Knights’ castle – the headquarters of the Commander on the right bank of the Vistula.
In the newer part of historical Torun – Nowe Miasto you will see representative commercial residences like a Golden Lion Pharmacy or “Pod Modrym Fartuchem” inn. Another historical object is a former Church of the Holy Trinity (now functions as a gallery) and Saint James’s Church.

A Remarkable and Deeply Moving Journey Through Poland’s History – Expertly Guided & Organized
This was our first time in Poland, planned around the Iron Maiden concert in Warsaw, and we wanted to experience as much WWII history as possible. From start to finish, our journey with AB Poland Travel was unforgettable. Thanks to Magda and Zuzanna’s outstanding coordination, every detail—from hotel bookings to taxi transfers—and daily schedules.
Each guide brought their own expertise and passion. Jurek and Jacek took us through Lublin, Majda nek, and Sobibór, weaving personal stories and deep historical insight into an emotional, humbling day. Wojtek led us to the Wolf’s Lair and Mamerki with an academic’s precision. Paweł brought Warsaw’s history alive, from the Old Town to local hangouts, Warsaw Ghetto sites, and later guided us through Treblinka and the Białowieża forest. Even our long day to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Kraków with Jacek was expertly managed—an intense, meaningful experience.
Behind the scenes, Magda and the office team were incredible—quick to respond, flexible with adjustments, and genuinely committed to making our trip special. ... [read more]
