Czestochowa is a city in the Silesian Voivodeship, located halfway between Krakow and Wroclaw. Thanks to the Pauline monastery of Jasna Gora, it is considered the religious center of Poland. August is the most important month of the year for the city, when you can see thousands of pilgrims walking along the Avenue of the Blessed Virgin Mary to reach their destination and pray in front of the famous Black Madonna painting. The downtown abounds with many charming cafés, restaurants and pubs located at the main promenade. Visiting this incredible tourist destination, make sure to take a walk on the grounds of the former ghetto and the Jewish cemetery. The city is also known for its long tradition of speedway racing, with Wlokniarz Czestochowa team established in 1946. Last but not least, it is here in Czestochowa that the wonderful Eagle's Nest Trail – a famous chain of twenty five medieval castles starts.
