Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva

The Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva was the largest Academy of Sages in its time. This Jewish educational institution was established in 1930 and was of global importance. The opening ceremony was attended by thousands of local Jews, and more than 10,000 from the rest of Poland and the world. When WWII broke out, the Yeshiva's work was abruptly interrupted. The German Army used the building as the headquarters of the German Military Police. After WWII the building was used by the Medical University of Lublin. In 2003 the building was returned to the Jewish Community. The synagogue of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva became the first fully renovated synagogue in Poland after WWII in 2007. Nowadays, the building of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva has been turned into a hotel, and the synagogue is open for visitors.
