Day 1: Warsaw
Upon arrival at Warsaw Chopin Airport or Warsaw Central Railway Station, transfer to your hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon, embark on a 3-hour guided walking tour of Warsaw's Old Town. Discover the vibrant heart of Poland’s capital, which was meticulously rebuilt after World War II. You'll explore key historical and cultural landmarks, including the Old Town with the Royal Castle, the iconic Warsaw Mermaid statue, and the majestic Royal Route, featuring the Presidential Palace and the University of Warsaw.
In the evening, enjoy a special Chopin piano concert, performed by one of Poland’s top musicians. Sip on a glass of champagne, wine, or a soft drink as you take in the beautiful music. Following the concert, indulge in a traditional Polish dinner at one of the finest restaurants in the Old Town. For an enhanced experience, an optional Polish folk dance show can be arranged.

Day 2: Warsaw - Kraków
In the morning, depart for Kraków, Poland’s former royal capital, known for its rich history and architectural beauty. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant to experience Kraków’s culinary delights.
In the afternoon, set out on a 3-hour walking tour of Kraków’s Old Town. Explore the historic Market Square, one of the largest medieval squares in Europe, visit the iconic St. Mary's Basilica, and stroll along the picturesque streets leading to Wawel Hill, where you’ll admire the Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral, the coronation site of Polish kings.

Day 3: Kraków - Wieliczka - Niedzica Castle
In the morning, depart from Krakow and travel to the world-renowned Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see intricate sculptures, chapels, and even a cathedral, all made of salt, while learning about the mine's rich history, dating back over 700 years. After the tour, there will be time to enjoy lunch in the area.
In the afternoon, travel to the picturesque Niedzica Castle, which stands proudly above Czorsztyn Lake. The castle offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding Pieniny Mountains. Day 4: Niedzica - Zakopane
After breakfast we will continue to Zakopane, the heart of the Polish Tatra Mountains. Enjoy a 3-hour guided tour of the town, including a ride up Gubałówka Mountain for panoramic views. Discover Zakopane’s alpine charm, traditional wooden architecture, and taste the famous local cheese, oscypek. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore—either go shopping or relax in one of the thermal baths.

Day 5: Zakopane - Auschwitz - Moszna Castle
Start your day with a morning departure from Zakopane, traveling to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum for a deeply moving and educational visit. Explore the poignant history of this site with a guided tour. After the visit, there will be time for lunch.

Day 6: Moszna Castle - Wrocław

Day 7: Wrocław - Książ Castle

Day 8: Książ Castle - Czocha Castle

Day 9: Czocha Castle - Poznań
After departing from Czocha Castle, head to the town of Bolesławiec, renowned for its beautiful ceramics. Visit the Ceramics Museum to learn about the town’s rich pottery tradition, and take part in a hands-on workshop where you can try your hand at crafting pottery. There will also be time to shop for unique ceramic pieces and enjoy lunch in town.
In the afternoon, continue your journey to Poznań. Upon arrival, embark on a 2-hour guided tour of the city, discovering its historical sites, vibrant squares, and the unique character of this bustling city.

Day 10: Poznań - Toruń - Gniew Castle
Begin your journey with a drive to the medieval city of Toruń, famous for its rich history, gingerbread, and stunning Gothic architecture. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of Toruń’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, where you’ll explore its beautifully preserved buildings, including the impressive Town Hall and the birthplace of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Day 11: Gniew Castle - Gdańsk
Depart for the coastal city of Gdańsk, renowned for its rich maritime history, colorful architecture, and lively Old Town. Upon arrival, enjoy a 3-hour guided walking tour, where you’ll explore iconic sites such as the historic Long Market, Neptune’s Fountain, and the towering Gothic St. Mary’s Church. Learn about the city’s fascinating past as a Hanseatic trading port and its role in modern history.
After the tour, you’ll have free time to wander Gdańsk at your own pace—perhaps visit charming local shops, relax at a café, or stroll along the Motława River.

Day 12: Gdańsk - Malbork - Reszel Castle

Day 13: Reszel Castle - Wolf’s Lair - Warsaw
Start your day with a visit to Wolf’s Lair, Adolf Hitler’s primary military headquarters during World War II, hidden deep within the dense forests of East Prussia. This sprawling complex, built with massive bunkers and fortified structures, was where Hitler and his top officials made critical decisions during the war. Take a guided tour through the haunting ruins, learning about the site’s significant history, including the famous 1944 assassination attempt on Hitler by Claus von Stauffenberg.
After immersing yourself in the history of Wolf’s Lair, begin the journey back to Warsaw.

Czocha Castle
Built in the 13th century as a defensive fortress, is nestled on the shores of Lake Leśnia in Lower Silesia. Over the centuries, it has served as a noble residence and has witnessed numerous historical events. Czocha gained a reputation as a place of intrigue, with hidden passages, secret rooms, and legends of treasure. Among its notable guests was the famous German film director Fritz Lang, who visited while scouting locations. During World War II, the castle was used by German forces and later served as a training center for military intelligence. Today, Czocha Castle captivates visitors with its medieval charm, mysterious history, and scenic surroundings.
Hotel Liberte 33 4*
The hotel is housed in a historic villa from 1920, beautifully restored to blend classic architecture with modern design. Originally part of Poznań's urban landscape, the villa retains many of its original elements, creating an ambiance that reflects the city’s rich history while offering contemporary comforts. Gniew Castle
Built in the late 13th century, is a historic Teutonic fortress located on the Vistula River. Originally constructed as a military stronghold by the Teutonic Knights, it played a significant role in medieval conflicts and regional defense. Over the centuries, it served various purposes, including a noble residence and administrative center. Notably, Polish King Jan III Sobieski resided at the castle in the 17th century, using it as a base for his military campaigns. Today, Gniew Castle has been carefully restored, hosting historical reenactments, events, and tours that bring its storied past to life, making it a popular destination for visitors interested in Poland's medieval heritage.
Dwór Uphagena 4*
The Uphagen Manor Hotel in Gdańsk has roots dating back to 1800, when the Uphagen family built it as a summer residence in the Lower Town. Later converted into a hospital by timber merchant J.G. Kuhn, it was expanded over the years by the Sisters of Mercy, who also added a chapel in 1860. The grounds feature a Lourdes-inspired grotto, a historic tradition for local First Communion photos, and both the chapel and grotto remain preserved highlights of the manor today.
Reszel Castle
Reszel Castle, originally built in the 14th century by the Teutonic Knights, served as a fortress and later as a bishop’s residence. Over the centuries, it witnessed various historical events, including the witch trial of Barbara Zdunk, the last person in Europe to be executed for witchcraft. The castle was also visited by Bishop Ignacy Krasicki, renowned Polish poet and writer of the Enlightenment, who frequented Reszel during his time as Bishop of Warmia. After periods of abandonment and damage, the castle was restored and today houses a museum, art gallery, and hotel, offering visitors a blend of history, culture, and hospitality within its medieval walls.
Please note that the castles are not large hotel complexes but rather more intimate, boutique accommodations. Therefore, if the group is large or there is no availability for your preferred dates, the stay will be arranged at a nearby hotel.

A Remarkable and Deeply Moving Journey Through Poland’s History – Expertly Guided & Organized
This was our first time in Poland, planned around the Iron Maiden concert in Warsaw, and we wanted to experience as much WWII history as possible. From start to finish, our journey with AB Poland Travel was unforgettable. Thanks to Magda and Zuzanna’s outstanding coordination, every detail—from hotel bookings to taxi transfers—and daily schedules.
Each guide brought their own expertise and passion. Jurek and Jacek took us through Lublin, Majda nek, and Sobibór, weaving personal stories and deep historical insight into an emotional, humbling day. Wojtek led us to the Wolf’s Lair and Mamerki with an academic’s precision. Paweł brought Warsaw’s history alive, from the Old Town to local hangouts, Warsaw Ghetto sites, and later guided us through Treblinka and the Białowieża forest. Even our long day to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Kraków with Jacek was expertly managed—an intense, meaningful experience.
